Won an award for research on presidential party leadership

Doherty won the Founders Award for the Best Paper by a Ph.D.-Holding Scholar from the Presidents and Executive Politics section of the American Political Science Association (APSA). The award is for a paper he presented at last year’s annual meeting of the APSA. The paper became the core of Chapter 3 of his book.
